Summer Sundays #5

Hey everyone!

Today will be the last post in my Summer Sundays series and I thought what better way to do it than share my pampering routine.  As Sunday is the official day of rest (for most of us) I like to use my Sundays to just chill and unwind.  I'm not even slightly ashamed to admit I'm writing this in bed at 1.26 pm.  A pampering Sunday is also needed if you have been out the night before like myself, I don't think I went to bed until around 3 o'clock this morning and I'm already feeling it.

One thing I love to do on a pampering day is slap on a face mask.  I feel like it just freshens and brightens my skin when its looking a little tired or dull.  The face mask I regularly use and love is Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetic.  I simply adore this face mask.  It is by far the best smelling of the Lush face mask range with a lovely blueberry, fruity scent.  Although it isn't the most appealing mask to look at, it certainly isn't the worse.  I apply this to my face like normal, leave it for about 10-15 minutes and then wash off with warm water.  After I've washed it off I notice an immense difference in my skin.  Its automatically less red, clearer looking and brighter.  If you suffer from redness and breakouts like I do (particularly around my t-zone) I would recommend you give this a try.  Its like my little miracle pot.

If you ignore my bed head hair and my childish pyjamas, you can tell all redness on my skin has disappeared and my breakouts seem almost non-existent.

Next, I like to do my nails.  Painting my nails is something I just enjoy doing and it really takes my mind off of things and just relaxes me for some bizarre reason.  Right now my nails are models own black with stud details on my ring finger that I bought from sparkly nails online (link here).

Another thing I love to do on a lazy day is light a candle and catch up on all my favourite shows I might have missed during the week.  My favourites being PLL, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and The Rules Of Engagement.  This completely chills me out and I just get to relax.  The candle I've been using is Bath and Body Works Summertime S'mores.  It smells exactly like a campfire with burning sugar and melting marshmallows and is perfect for cozy summer days.

Finally on lazy days like this, I seem to drink way more tea than I normally do.  I don't know what it is but a cup of tea with plenty sugar is just happiness in a cup for me.  I usually only have one or two cups a day, but when I'm chilling out I must drink a cup an hour haha!!

What is you lazy day rituals? What is your favourite way to relax?  Let me know in the comments below.  I hope you enjoyed my Summer Sundays series and thank you all for reading.

Summer Sundays #3

Hey Everyone!

For today's Summer Sunday, I thought I would share my summer make up routine with you guys.  In summer, I tend to tone down my make up and ware a bit less than I normally do.  There's nothing worse than feeling your make up melt off your face on a hot day!  So without further ado, lets get into my simple summertime make up!

Before I start applying any make up, I like to give my face a quick cleanse.  I've been trying out the Loreal Micellular Water and I really like it.  Obviously its main use is to remove make up, but I also like to sweep it over my skin before I apply any more to make sure my skin is clean.  So after I cleanse, my face looks a little like this...(love a no make up shot...NOT)

I then like to take my Max Factor CC Cream, which I genuinely could not recommend more, and apply it with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush.  I love this CC Cream so so much!  It gives really good coverage but still feels weightless on the skin.

I then apply my Maybelline Coverstick to any stand out blemishes.  After that I like to set my CC Cream with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and my Real Techniques Duo Fibre Powder Brush.

Next, I apply my Garnier Anti Dark Circles Under Eye Concealer to brighten my under eye area and banish any dark circles.  Then taking Posietint by Benefit I apply it first to my fingers and then to my cheeks and blend.  The reason I don't like applying it straight from the brush is a) hygiene b) I feel like it can stain to quickly and you have a dot from where you applied it with the brush.  After that, I take my MAC Pearlmatte Face Powder to my cheekbones and my brow bones to highlight.

Then taking my Benefit Smokin Eyes Kit, I use browzings to fill in my eyebrows and then brush them out slightly to make them look more natural.

For my eyes, I like to go a little more natural in summer.  So I use brown eyeliner to line my top lash line and smudge it out a little.  I've been loving Rimmels Soft Kohl in Brown.  Then I curl my lashes then coat them with a layer of Maybelline's Define-a-Lash.

Finally I apply my favourite lip product right now, which is the Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya.

 So this is the completed look;

I really like this look, I feel like it's a lot less effort and so simple for summer days.  It doesn't feel heavy on the skin or overpowering at all.  I hope you all enjoyed this post and I will speak to you all on Tuesday for my big haul post...

Summer Sunday's Series #1

Hey Everyone!

I am starting a new Sunday Series through the summer months about different things you can do/make/enjoy this summer.  There will be various random posts like baking, activities and DIY's.  I'm really excited to start this series and I hope you all like it.

Strawberry and Apple Smoothie

I don't know about you lot, but I love smoothies.  They're so delicious.  I recently came across a really simple one for a strawberry and apple smoothie and I thought it was perfect for summer days!

What you need;

  • 1 medium sized apple
  • 5 strawberries
  • A blender/smoothie maker
  • A hint of water
  • Chopping board
  • A knife

I'm using Kenwood smoothie 2GO

You want to start off by quartering your apple (cut it in a square around the core)

And you will end up with something like this,

Then cube your apple slices to make them easier to blend.

Then go ahead and add that to the blender.

Next, cut the heads off the strawberries and quarter them too (half then half again).

Add that too your blender as well,

After that all you need to add is a splash of water because we're trying to keep as much nutrients as possible.  For a hot day add some ice to make the smoothie nice and refreshing.

Then get blending,

After all of the fruit is blended, pour into a fancy glass.  Then for an added touch, cut a slit in the bottom of a strawberry and attach to the side of your glass.

And Bon Appetite!

I hope you enjoy your summer smoothie if you make one!  I certainly did haha!!  Thanks so much for reading and please leave any suggestions you have for my Summer Sunday's Posts!
