Avon Colortrend Lipstick Review

Hey guys!

It isn't a secret that I am a huge lipstick fanatic.  With over 40 in my collection, picking which lipstick to wear has become a regular challenge.  I'm here today to let you in on a little favourite of mine. These beauties at £3.75 each are a bargain for their quality, colours and selection.

First things first, this range has a gorgeous colour selection.  They have a bunch of colours I would never normally try, but since they are so cheap, I can give them a go.  The colours are surprisingly well pigmented and glide on the lips so smoothly.  They leave a slight gloss finish but last a fairly long time (I would say 3-4 hours).

The first colour in my collection is Doll Pink.  Doll Pink is pretty much what it claims, a bright barbie doll pink.  I love how bright and fun this colour is and it's a perfect summer shade.

Next in my collection is Passion.  Passion is a bright orange-red with pink.  It's pretty much a mix of them all.  When looking at it, it's hard to define whether it's a pink, red or orange.  It's a lovely shade and definitely unique, I've never seen another shade quite like it.

Then I also have Flirt.  Flirt is clearly orange but has a distinctive pink shine to it. I adore this colour because its so vivid and different but the pink shine makes it so easy to wear.

Next I have Violet Friday, which although looks intimidating, it's actually beautiful.  When swatched it appears much more pink based but gives enough purple to show it's unique side.  The purple lipstick has been rising in popularity over the past few months and I think this is the perfect colour to start with.

Finally I have Amethyst which is a deep plumy pink and is probably the most "normal" shade out of this little collection of mine. This lipstick reminds me slightly of MAC's Hot Gossip but more plum.  This colour is perfect for everyday wear.

So if you haven't guessed already, I'll sum it up for you, I love these lipsticks.  They are all so beautiful.  Although I only have a fraction of the full collection, the shades I have are stunning and so completely unique to anything else I own.

(From left to right) Amethyst, Violet Friday, Flirt, Passion and Doll Pink.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and thank you for reading! Let me know some of your favorite lipsticks below in the comments!

Style Stealer: Kendall Jenner

Hey everyone!

I recently decided it might be cool to start a Style Stealer Series. Basically I will be picking a different celebrity each week and finding cheaper, alternative clothing similar to ones they have worn before. It gives you guys the opportunity to "steal" their style. If you have any particular celebs you would like me to feature, just leave your suggestions in the comments below!

I decided to start with someone that is a fashion icon of mine. I would love to go into her wardrobe and have a good nose around!  Kendall Jenner always looks so cool and classy, even when she's just popping out to the shops.

Outfit 1

The top I found (here) is pretty similar to the one Kendall is wearing.  The soft V-Neck is a perfect look for a simple everyday outfit.  I also managed to find these bright sky blue jeggings which look almost identical to the pair Kendall is wearing.  Finding similar shoes was probably the most difficult part of this outfit, but I managed to find these.  The total cost of this outfit is £62.50.

Outfit 2

Plain Sleeveless Top with Crossover V-Neckline

In this picture its kind of difficult to see what top she is wearing.  However I noticed that there is crossover detailing at the neckline.  I found a similar top here which is super cheap!  I also found a pair of black leather leggings -link- (which are pretty popular at the moment so if you aren't keen on this pair, you shouldn't struggle to find another).  I found a bright red clutch here which adds a pop of colour into this Kendall outfit.  I also found shoes that are pretty much exactly the same but probably £1000 cheaper (link here).  The total cost for this outfit is £52.59.

Outfit 3

I am so happy with my find on this skirt!! It is the exact same print and pattern!!!  Find it here! And at £22 you can steal Kendall's style for a fraction of the price!  The top I found is also pretty similar but not exact but still paired with this black bandeau, creates the perfect Jenner inspired look.  These shoes completely tie the whole look together and look fabulous with the print skirt.  The total cost of this outfit is £73.99

Outfit 4

Ruched detail strapless dress

I found this little black dress at Mango and the shoes at Miss Guided.  I then found this gorgeous gold drop necklace.  Finally I found this stunning gold box clutch to tie everything together.  I love this outfit and I think it's so simply elegant.  The total cost of this outfit is £96.98.

I hope you enjoyed the first of my style stealers series!  Remember to leave any requests in the comments below!

Simple Soothing Eye Balm Review

Hey everyone!

Recently I purchased Simple's Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.  I'm a big fan of Simple and their skincare products and their face wipes are an essential of mine. When I was looking around for an eye cream I immediately thought of Simple. Because the eye area is such an extra sensitive part of our body's it's important we look after it correctly.

I have pretty wrinkly eyes for a 17 year old (stupid genetics). So eye cream for me is essential as I don't want to have super wrinkly eyes when I'm older.  My eyes also get pretty tired and irritated at the end of the day. So with that being said, lets get into the actual review.

As soon as this is applied to the eye area it feels so cool and refreshing.  I love applying this first thing in the morning because it just wakes up my eyes completely.  It is definitely soothing as it claims.  The consistency is really light and a little goes a long way.  A little dot goes all the way underneath my eye and right across my lid and brow bone.  It reduces puffiness around my eyes and really helps soothe my tired eyes.

I really enjoy using this and I look forward to when I get to apply it which just shows how much I like this.  If you suffer from tired eyes this would be a perfect product for you!  I really like it and I think a lot of people would!!  It was really inexpensive at around £4.

I hope you have enjoyed this post today and thank you for reading!  Do you have any tips for tired/wrinkly eyes?  Let me know in the comments.

New vanity!!

Hey everyone!

If you follow me on twitter, you probably know that I recently purchased the Micke desk from Ikea.  I have wanted a desk/vanity for so long you don't even understand.  To finally have it built is just fabulous.  I'm sitting staring at it in awe just now.

My dad done such a good job building it for me, god knows how it would of turned out if I had to do it on my own.  Here's a little work in progress shot haha!

I'm still waiting for drawer organisers to arrive and I'm still trying to work out where everything should be.  I'm also getting a wall mount for my TV so it's to of my way.  As soon as I get everything organised I will be sure to give you all a proper tour of my new set up.  I plan on storing all my makeup in either the drawers or in my acrylic storage sets.  I hope to have everything organised pretty soon because I'm so excited about everything.

Let me know if you want to see a proper tour/ makeup storage/ makeup collection post in the comments!

Thank you for reading and I will speak to you all soon!!

Naked Basics Palette Review and Looks

Hey everyone!

In case you haven't heard, the Naked Palettes by Urban Decay are some of the most lusted eye products out their in the beauty world.  It originally started with the Naked palette, then there was Naked 2 followed by the most recent Naked Basics.  I was constantly meaning to get the Naked palette and when the Naked 2 I meant to get that as well but I never got around to it.  But about a month or two ago, I finally bought the Naked Basics Palette.

The palette consists of six eyeshadows, five matte shades and one shimmer.  I created 4 different looks that I'm going to share with you after my little review of the whole palette.

So I absolutely love this palette and I use it pretty much everyday. The colours are all extremely pigmented and I do realise the lighter shades are less visable in pictures, they do show up nicely in person.  I must warn you though Crave is such a deep intense black, it can be really messy! I cracked a tiny bit of the side of the pan and every time I pick up the palette, I'm now covered in black. My white bed sheets have also suffered.  This aside, I would 100% recommend this palette.  It's perfect for all levels of skills, beginners to pros will get use of this. Now lets get into the looks I created with this palette.

Look Number 1 - Dramatic

My first look is the most dramatic of them all. I started off with Foxy all over my lid and then used Naked 2 and Faint in my crease to add definition. I then added Crave to my outer corner and smoked in inwards to the outer 2/3rds of my eye. I then lined my eyes with liquid eyeliner (Rimmels Exaggreate) and winged it out. I also brought the liquid liner underneath my bottom lash line and added pencil liner (Avon Glimmerstick) to my water line. I think this look is more of a "night out" look and perfect for parties.

Look 2 - Smokey

I definitely feel this is a much more wearable smokey look for everyday. It's quite similar to the first look but less dramatic. I used WOS all over my lid and added Naked 2 to my crease. I then added Faint to my outer corner and blended it out. Next I added my liquid eyeliner and winged it out again. I also added pencil liner to my waterline.

Look 3 - Slightly Smoked

This is one of my most worn looks for my eyes. It's so natural looking but yet it is still clear you made the effort. I applied WOS all over my lid and added Naked 2 to my crease and blended it out. Then I added liquid liner to my top lash line and added a slight wing.

Look 4 - Mrs Bright Eyes

This is perfect for when you wake up and your eyes are just looking a little tired and dark. I applied Foxy all over my lid and added Venus to my inner corner and brow bone. Then added yet again my liquid liner to my top lash line and created a little wing. I use this one a lot when I've slept in and I don't have much time on my hands.

I hope you all enjoyed this mixed review/tutorial post.  Let me know in the comments below what your favourite look is. If any of you are wondering, my laptop is still broken and I'm writing this from the blogger app from my phone so I'm sorry if the layout or whatever isn't as good but the app isn't the greatest but its the best I can do. I will be blogging from my phone until I can get my laptop fixed so please bear with me for the time being! Thank you so much for reading and I will speak to you all very soon!

The Lipstick Tag

Hey Everyone!

Unfortunately my laptop has completely broken so I have no clue what I'm going to do about blogging as I'm writing this part from my phone today! I had written this post the other day and was waiting to add pictures before I posted it today.  But because my laptop broke I only have a couple of photos I added before!  I'm hoping to get my laptop fixed soon but until then blogging may be slow!  Again I'm sorry but here's the post I had written!

Recently the lovely Mia from Mia Alice in Wonderland tagged me to do the lipstick tag.  I had actually never heard of it before but as a massive lipstick enthusiast, I was immediately intrigued.  Basically its a bunch of questions about your lippys, what's not to love?

How many lipsticks do you own?

I own 42 lipsticks...is that normal?  I wouldn't even say I have a lot.

What was your first ever lipstick?

My first ever lipstick was Carnation from Avon and I still love it!  I don't think I could of picked a better first lipstick.  It was affordable, the perfect pop of colour without being scary and had a lovely finish.

What is your most worn lipstick?

Ooh this is tough.  I would say my most worn lipstick is MAC Lovelorn.  Its such a pretty everyday shade and gives a nice colour without being OTT.  It feels really soft and light on the lips as well which is a bonus.

What is your favourite brand for lipstick?

I do love my MAC lippies but they're starting to creep up in price more and more each time I look at the website.  For 'drugstore' brands I love Revlon lipsticks, they give really nice pigmentation and have a really lovely formula.

What is your favourite finish?

I love MAC Creamsheens, I love how light they feel on the lips but they still give such a great colour.  So I suppose I like lipsticks with a bit of a gloss finish and shine with great pigmentation.

What is the last lip product your bought?

Maybelline's Baby Lips.  They recently came out in the UK and I just had to get them.

How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?

I'm actually really good with not overloading my bad with make up.  I only have a Baby Lips in my bag right now (peach kiss).  So only one.

What lipstick do you use to rock a red lip?

MAC's RiRi Woo.  Do I need to say more?  Its such a perfect red.  Because of my skin tone, I mostly suit blue-pinks, and RiRi Woo has blue undertones which makes it even more perfect for me.

How do you store your lipsticks?

I keep my lipsticks in the slightly overused but ever so classy acrylic storage containers.  I'm currently in the process of getting a new desk/vanity (which I will share with you all when I get it) and I'm so excited to have all of my lipsticks sitting pretty in the raked acrylic storage that I bought from eBay.

What lip products are you currently lusting over?

I am DYING to try one of the YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks.  They look so pretty and classy and all the shades are perfect.  However, I don't know if I can bare spending £24 on a lipstick...

Thank you all so much for reading this post!  I will keep you up to date on the whole laptop situation!

Budget Party Outfit

Hey Everyone!

I recently had one of my friends birthdays coming up and she was having a house party.  As I scanned my wardrobe I could see absolutely nothing I wanted to wear.  I was in a slight predicament as it was a week or two from pay day and I was pretty much broke.  And so the bargain hunt began...

I started searching eBay, ASOS marketplace, and different types of online stores.  Just as I was about to give up I came across Missguided's Sweet Deal Range.  I fell in love with this dress, and to my disbelief it was only £6.99.  £6.99 for a dress??  I went ahead and ordered it along with this belt.

I love this dress.  I adore the simplicity of it but paired with the belt it becomes slightly edgy.  I must note that it is slightly see through because the material is so thin, but I wore a black yoga shorts underneath and a bandeau on top!

As for my shoes,  they were a bargain as well.  I got them on Secret Sales which is a website that sells designer clothing, shoes, cosmetics and homeware at a discounted price.  I got these shoes around May time so I don't think they are on Secret Sales any more.  The brand is BullBoxer if any of you want to try and find them.

My belt, like I said, was also from Missguided and I love it.  Its a black belt with studs all around.  I know for sure I'm going to get so much ware out of this.

Let me know if you like this outfit and if you would like more fashion posts on my blog.  Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post!
