Summer Sundays #3

Hey Everyone!

For today's Summer Sunday, I thought I would share my summer make up routine with you guys.  In summer, I tend to tone down my make up and ware a bit less than I normally do.  There's nothing worse than feeling your make up melt off your face on a hot day!  So without further ado, lets get into my simple summertime make up!

Before I start applying any make up, I like to give my face a quick cleanse.  I've been trying out the Loreal Micellular Water and I really like it.  Obviously its main use is to remove make up, but I also like to sweep it over my skin before I apply any more to make sure my skin is clean.  So after I cleanse, my face looks a little like this...(love a no make up shot...NOT)

I then like to take my Max Factor CC Cream, which I genuinely could not recommend more, and apply it with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush.  I love this CC Cream so so much!  It gives really good coverage but still feels weightless on the skin.

I then apply my Maybelline Coverstick to any stand out blemishes.  After that I like to set my CC Cream with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and my Real Techniques Duo Fibre Powder Brush.

Next, I apply my Garnier Anti Dark Circles Under Eye Concealer to brighten my under eye area and banish any dark circles.  Then taking Posietint by Benefit I apply it first to my fingers and then to my cheeks and blend.  The reason I don't like applying it straight from the brush is a) hygiene b) I feel like it can stain to quickly and you have a dot from where you applied it with the brush.  After that, I take my MAC Pearlmatte Face Powder to my cheekbones and my brow bones to highlight.

Then taking my Benefit Smokin Eyes Kit, I use browzings to fill in my eyebrows and then brush them out slightly to make them look more natural.

For my eyes, I like to go a little more natural in summer.  So I use brown eyeliner to line my top lash line and smudge it out a little.  I've been loving Rimmels Soft Kohl in Brown.  Then I curl my lashes then coat them with a layer of Maybelline's Define-a-Lash.

Finally I apply my favourite lip product right now, which is the Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya.

 So this is the completed look;

I really like this look, I feel like it's a lot less effort and so simple for summer days.  It doesn't feel heavy on the skin or overpowering at all.  I hope you all enjoyed this post and I will speak to you all on Tuesday for my big haul post...

The Best Deals Of The Summer

Hey Everyone!

I recently noticed that there is a lot of sales, deals and discounts going on right now.  I thought I would check some of them out for you to see if there are any good.  I don't know about you guys but usually when there's sales on, I feel like its all the stuff people didn't want, in sizes nobody wanted.  BUT, on the rare occasion, sales can be amazing and have loads of stuff that is still in trend, is fabulous and is in the sizes you need.  A lot of the sales I'm talking about, I have purchased from.  But I have been pretty bad and purchased quite a few things recently so I'm going to wait for them all to come in from online and do a big haul post for you guys! Lets hit the sales!

New Look

Okay, so if you don't already know, New Look are having a massive sale.  No idea why, but the vast majority of the stuff in the sale is summer clothes.  Usually stores wait until the end of summer before starting the sale.  I'm not complaining though, it just means your getting summer clothes at a great discount!  I went down to my local New Look and picked up a couple of really great deals that will feature in the haul post.  I would 100% recommend checking out the New Look Sale.

Cath Kidston

The Cath Kidston Sale is one I really love.  I adore Cath Kidston.  Everything to the prints to the actual products are just adorable.  They also have some really good deals going on, especially on phone cases and stationary.  Its a perfect time to buy stationary for the new school year because a lot of it is on discount.  I also picked up a phone case which I literally fell in love with because it is so adorable.

River Island

River Island is not really a store I shop in a lot, but when I seen the online sale, there was so many things I loved.  I resisted buying anything but I definitely think that it is worth checking out.  Again, most of the sale features summer clothes, which is great because you'll get summer clothes at a better price.

Topshop

Also, Topshop are having a sale.  I don't feel like the Topshop sale is as great as some of the ones I have already mentioned but there was a few hidden gems.  A difficulty I usually find with Topshop sales is a lack of correct sizes, but I suppose its because the Topshop sales are so popular.  Its worth a look if you've got some spare time to rummage through the featured clothes.

Urban Outfitters

I love Urban Outfitters sales.  There is always something I see that I immediately want.  Sometimes things can still be quite expensive even though its in the sale, but again some gems can be found at great prices.  If Urban Outfitters is your type of store, you'll definitely love the sales.  Urban Outfitters seem to always have some form of sale on, so there's always extra opportunities.

If your a sale shopper like me, you should 100% check some of these out.  Is there any other amazing sales happening that I've missed??  Let me know in the comments!

Black Tied Jewellery

Hey Everyone!

Recently I stumbled across Black Tied Jewellery and I instantly fell in love.  The style was so up my street.  If I could design a jewellery line, it would be pretty similar to Black Tied.  As soon as I went on the site, I wanted to own everything!! So as expected, I placed an order.

The first thing that was added to my basket was the Silver Infinity Necklace .  I had been looking for an infinity necklace for so long but never came across one that I truly loved.  I really loved this one so so much.  However in all respect to myself, I have held back on keeping it and I am planning on giving it to on of my best friends for her 18th birthday because I know she will love it just as much as I do.  I think I may place another order and get one of these for myself because they are so simplistic and beautiful.

The next thing I ordered was also something I had been looking for for a long time.  Above the knuckle rings!!  I purchased the Sterling Silver Rings.  I love the look of above the knuckle rings.  Honestly, I have not taken these off since they came in the mail because I just love the way they look.  I think they are so different and nobody I know wears above the knuckle rings so I love the uniqueness of them.  Again they are so simplistic but look stunning.

The last thing I got from Black Tied was the Antiqued Gold Starfish Ring.  If you have seen Aquamarine, then you'll know what I'm talking about when I say this, but it reminds me of the cute little starfish that they wear as earrings during the movie.  The way the ring 'clings' to your finger just looks adorable.  I think this is perfect for summer and I'll definitely be wearing it every time I hit the beach.  This ring can also be doubled up as it can be worn regularly on the pinky or as an above the knuckle ring on any other finger.  I personally prefer it as a regular ring but I think it's cute either way.

Overall, I was really impressed with every item I received from Black Tied and there is no doubt in my mind that I will be ordering from them again.  I feel like above the knuckle rings have become my new obsession and I'm desperate for an infinity necklace of my own.

I hope you all enjoyed this post!  Have you guys ever purchased from Black Tied?  What do you recommend buying next?

Summer Sundays #2

Hey Everyone!

For today's Summer Sunday , I thought of a little day plan/roadtrip/activity that you can easily take part in this summer!  Just get your friends and get on the move!  This is how my day turned out...

We started off the day at Starbucks...of course! And because it was such a warm day, we had cool lime refreshas! (If you haven't tried them, do it! They're so yummy).

Then me and Freya decided we would take a little roadtrip, and we headed on down to the beach.  We jumped in Freya's car and headed the coast.  Now we are fairly lucky to be only 10 minutes from the beach so it's pretty much on our doorstep.

We first headed to a little cove I visited a few times when I was little, however it was a little steeper than I remembered and we couldn't actually make it down to the shore.  On the other hand I still managed to get some incredible pictures.  Sometimes I forget how beautiful Scotland truly is.

So we hit another local beach surrounded by forest.

For our little roadtrip, we had taken a disposable barbecue, matches, skewers and marshmallows.  You can see where this is going...

Yes we roasted marshmallows!!! It was really fun but just a hint of advice.  If your going to try this, please please please REMEMBER to take something to put out the fire.  We had nothing and had a panic attack/drama event.  Freya had an empty bottle in her car and filled it up at the feet showers but for a split second, we thought we were going to have to phone 999.

After our little drama, we chilled out for a little bit and then headed back home.

Overall we had a really great day.  If you plan on hitting the beach and roasting some marshmallows, please stay safe!! Let me know if you guys enjoy these kind of follow-me-about posts and I might end up doing more if you like them!

Nails Of The Day

Hey Guys!

Some of you had suggested that I do more 'Nails Of The Day' posts so that's exactly what I'm going to do!  I recently purchases Marie Claire Magazine which contained a mini Ciate caviar manicure set in the shade 'Cookies and Cream' so I thought I would give it a try.

The nail polish in the set was quite watery and thin and I needed about 4 coats to achieve a nice look.  However I do think that is just because these are freebies.  I don't think the regular Ciate polishes are like that at all.

I decided to try out the caviar part of the kit on my ring finger as I had never tried it before and wasn't sure how I would like it.  The application was fairly simple, I just coated my ring finger in the polish provided and sprinkled the caviar over my nail and pressed them into place.  I should just add, that if you plan on doing this make sure you have something underneath to collect the rest of the fallen beads.

As the day went on, I noticed that some beads were falling off, but I blame that on my application,  not the product itself.  For a freebie, I really enjoyed using this.  I'm not sure if I would pick up a full sized or not.  I find the feeling of the caviar a bit bizarre and I'm constantly fiddling with it!  But for a bit of a different look, it was nice to try!

Did you pick up Marie Claire this month, and did you give the Caviar Manicure a go? Let me know in the comments below!

John Freida Frizz-Ease Miraculous Masque Review

Hey Everyone!

Okay, so I'm guilty.  I love styling my hair and 99% of the time it involves heat.  Heat really doesn't do your hair any favours, especially when your hair is thin and overall pretty weak like mine.  I'm big on trying to treat my hair with indulgent products to repair my hair from any heat damage.  Heat protection, deep conditioners and intensive masques are constantly on trial with me.  So when I seen a sachet of John Freida's Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery Intensive Masque in Tesco for 66p, I thought I would give it a try!  If you already use this or want to give it a go, the full size tub is also on offer in Tesco for £4 instead of £6.

First things first, for a sachet, there is actually a lot of product in this little packet.  It has lasted me 2 uses but could last for 3 if your hair is shorter than my own.

The products formula is quite thick, rich cream.  It reminded me of thick moisturisers, kind of like a body butter for the hair.  It contains Milk Protein, Avocado Oil and Vitamin E.  You just apply it like a regular conditioner, focusing particularly on the ends of your hair.  I then left it on my hair for about 5 minutes.

After I rinsed and dried my hair I did notice that my hair was noticeably softer.  It felt silky and glided through my hands without any tangles being found.  I also noticed that this helped reduce flyaways in my hair, which I've actually been struggling a lot with recently.

I think I'm going to pick up the full size pot and trial it for a little longer.

But as for the sachet, I did notice a difference with the softness in my hair and I really enjoyed using this product.  It felt really luxurious in my hair and made my hair feel really light and weightless.  I also think, even from the photo below, that you can notice an extra shine to my hair.

Have you tried this hair masque?  And what are your other favourite hair masques for weak hair?  Let me know and I'll take a look!

Until next time!

June Favourites

Hey Everyone!

The month of June was a take off for my little blog.  I went from around 200 views in a month to 2,000, and I'm determined to keep it going.  I gathered a little bundle of my favourites for this month (some beauty and some non-beauty) and I am about to share them with you all.

Beauty Favourites

My first June favourite is a Revlon Lip Butter.  It's a fairly new shade to my local boots collection and its shade 027, Juicy Papaya.  I adore this shade.  Its the perfect summer colour.  It's a pinky-coral (a subtle coral you could say...).  I love the feel of lip butters as they're not too heavy for hot days and the really soothe lips while adding a nice sheer colour.  I 100% recommend this to everyone.

The next favourite of mine would be Bourjois blush in Rose Mandarin.  I think this blush and Juicy Papaya go together perfectly and they have been my go to duo this month.  It is also a orangey toned shade with a pink undertone.  Its really pigmented but needs some blending out to achieve a truly beautiful look.

I've also been loving my MAC Pearlmatte Face Powder in In For A Treat.  When I first got this product I was quite disappointed that it wasn't as visible as I had hoped.  But as I used it more, I realised the true potential of this factor.  It made the product look so much more natural and the 'glow' it creates doesn't look applied at all.  It looks so beautiful and this product has really grown on me throughout the month of June.  I've said this before that I don't feel pictures from my camera don't really justify it, but if you want to see a swatch, there are some beautiful ones on google.

Another favourite of mine for the month of June has been Aussie Luscious Long Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave In Conditioner.  First things first, these all smell incredible.  All Aussie Products do.  I tried the Luscious Long set where they were on offer in Tesco for 3 for 2.  I really do love them and they make my hair so soft and silky.  I also think its helped reduce fly-aways.  And just back to the smell.  Lush.

Non Beauty Favourites

I only have 2 non beauty favourites.  The first one is a candle and it is the Yankee Candle in Summer Scoop.   This candle smells divine.  It literally smells like strawberry ice cream.  I could just eat this!!  One thing I love about Yankee candles is that you barely even need to burn them to get the scent floating around your room.

My second non beauty favourite is a food I just can not stop eating.  Magic Stars.  Come on guys, you know you love them too.  Some people may think these are for 'children', but they are truly the most fabulous chocolates ever.  It all started when a vending machine gave me two packets instead of one...

So that's it for this months favourites!  I hope you enjoyed reading this post and let me know if you want to see more monthly favourites!  Leave me a comment telling me all about your favourites for the month of June.
