October Favourites

Hey everyone!

I've not done a favourites post in a couple of months so I decided to do one today!  The month of October found me rediscovering some things in my makeup collection that I haven't used in some time, and falling in love with them all over again.  Let's get into what products I've been loving this month!

I bought this Tangle Teezer a few days ago and I'm in love with it already.  It detangles my hair without any tugging or pulling on my hair and I've already noticed less of my hairs falling out.  And it's bright and fun!
Tangle Teezer (The Original) - £10.99 at Boots.

My most worn lipstick this month has to be Pink Plaid by MAC.  It's such a gorgeous matte finish and it feels so luxurious and creamy on the lips.
Pink Plaid - £13.50 at MAC

Next is another lip product - my EOS lipbalm in what I believe is pomegranate and raspberry?  I'm sorry I'm not exactly 100% sure on the flavour but it's the pink one?  I won this in a blog contest a few months back and it's really been so lovely this cold month.  It's super moosturising and I use it every single morning.

My next favourite is my only boxed blush by Benefit (unfortunately) that I have had as a loyal companion for over a year now.  This is such a stunning blush and has to be my favourite blush in my makeup collection.  Each colour is so beautiful on it's own or perfect swirled together with the others.  Oh and did I mention it smells divine?
Hervana by Benefit - £23.50 at Boots

My next favourite is part of a box swap I recently took part in with Valarie.  This mascara is amazing! I'm completely hooked.  It feels so light on the lashes and provides great volume and length.  Addicted isn't the word.

For my non beauty favourite I've really been loving CANDY CANES!! I know it's still a few months until Christmas but hey.  I love candy canes so much so when I seen a box of 12 for 79p in Home Bargins, I couldn't resist.

I hope you enjoyed this months favourites post and I will speak to you all soon! Let me know in the comments which products you've been loving this month!

Essie "Bahama Mama" Review

Hey everyone!

Today I have a slightly different review for you all - a nail polish!  I don't think I've ever reviewed a nail polish before but here goes nothing.

Bahama Mama by Essie is the perfect fall/winter shade.  The colour reminds me of rich winter berries.  There is also no denying that maroon colours are totally in this fall.

This polish really only needs two coats at the most but it is possible to get away with only one coat (I just always think two coats looks better, regardless of polish).  This is definitely one of the most shiney Essie polishes I've ever come across.  I actually have been asked a few times if I have gel nails when I'm wearing this colour.

I am a huge fan of Essie polishes but I usually tend to stick to blues and pinks, this shade was a jump out of my nail wardrobe but I'm so glad I bought it and it's one of my favourite polishes, ever.

Let me know if you've ever tried this polish or what other Essie shades I should try out!

Winter Wishlist

Hey everyone!

As we move from the warmth of autumn into the bitter coldness of winter, those cozier items begin to crop up on my wish list.  I thought I would share my Winter Wishlist with you all!

1. Tartan Scarf

I've been loving the tartan trend but I'm not brave enough to tackle anything more than a scarf.  I think tartan scarfs are such a cute and cozy accessory and look great in the winter months.  I've yet to find my "perfect" scarf but I've seen a couple I like, including this one from H&M for £4.

2. Winter Candles

Candles are pretty much an essential to me regardless of the time of year but I especially love candles in winter.  Candles completely set the mood when your stuck indoors on a snowy day tucked up in bed watching a movie.  There's one particular candle I have my eye on - Merry Marshmellow by Yankee Candle - and it smells delicious.

3. Black Riding Boots

I'm obsessed with riding boots and my tan ones are my babies (even if those baby's give me blistered 50% of the time).  I wanted a black pair last year and never got around to it but this year I will get a pair.  I have my eyes on this pair from New Look for £24.99.
4. Topshop Lip Crayon

I LOVE the look of this colour (Suspect)!! It seems like the perfect A/W shade! And I've yet to try any makeup from topshop!

5. Too Faced No Makeup Makeup Palette

For day to day wear I like to keep my makeup to the bare minimum (minus a rocking lipstick).  And as a red head, finding foundations is a task on its own.  This palette looks like it would help achieve a beyond natural skin look and I really want to try it.

6. Tiffany's Elsa Peretti Color by the Yard Ring

My birthday falls within the Winter months and this year on the 21st December, I'm turning 18.  For my 18th birthday I would love to get a special piece of jewerlly I can keep forever, but also get a lot of wear from.  I've loved this ring from Tiffany's for years and I will be dropping subtle hints throughout the next few months.  My mum already said that I can get the ring but incase she forgets haha!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post today! Have a good day and I will speak to you all soon!

Discovery Club by The Fragrance Shop

Hey everyone!

Today I'm going to be talking about a new beauty box on the scene. Not another beauty box I hear you all yell at your interweb page. I know I know, there is so many out there now it's pretty difficult to find one that "stands out from the crowd".  The fragrance shop have not long released their fourth edition Discovery Club box.

This dinky little box is firstly very cute.  Second of all it's is filled with the latest perfume samples and vouchers worth £60! As a big lover of fragrance I was super excited when asked if I would like to give this box a trial run.

The little booklet include supplies a lot of detail of each perfume included and a £10 voucher for each perfume.  What's great about the vouchers is that they are redeemable online (I don't have The Fragrance Shop anywhere near me so I was worried they were only "in store coupons".  Another great thing is that this box isn't a subscription! It's £5 and your not tied down to any contract. A new box is release quarterly and it's entirely up to you whether you get it or not.

As soon as I opened the box I was hit with that "perfume shop scent" which if I'm honest, I would love a perfume of!

As for the six fragrances inside I can truthfully say I loved them all.  There was 5 woman's fragrance and one men's and I think the men's was my favourite!! It's exactly what every girl wants a guy to smell like! (For those of you stuck on what to get your boyfriend/husband for Christmas this year, go into a shop and give this one a sniff!!).

My other favourite was Boss for her by Hugo Boss and I'm definitely going to treat myself to this!! And instead of £36.99 I only pay £26.99 with my £10 voucher (fabby!).

I hope you all liked today's post and I would like to thank the Sparkle PR girls for letting me try this box and for your lovely letter!

Skinetica*

Hey everyone!

When Skinetica approached me on twitter and asked my if I would like to try their product I said yes immediately!  I've heard so many good things about Skinetica I was thinking about buying a bottle anyway.  Firstly disclaimer, even though the people at Skinetica were kind enough to send me a bottle, all opinions remain my own.

Skinetica is made up of only four ingredients (purified water, ethol alcohol, fragrance and quaternary ammonium chloride).  So it has no harsh chemicals which is always a bonus. It's is incredibly gentle on the skin which is perfect if you have sensitive skin and it has zero side effects.

The liquid formula is probably the simplest skin care routine out there. Add a little bit to a cotton pad and sweep across the skin.  Another bonus of this product is how good it smells!  I personally think this smells amazing, like fresh lemons.

After using this for a week I noticed a considerable difference in my skin. My skin looked clearer, less red and less breakouts.  This fits so easily into any skin care routine and takes literally 30 seconds to apply.

Overall, I really loved this product!  I can honestly say that when I finish this product I will repurchase it!  I would encourage everyone with spot prone skin to look into this product and maybe even see if you can get your hands on a sample.

I hope you enjoyed today's post and I'll speak to you all shortly.

USA Box Swap!

Hey everyone!

A few months ago, Valerie from oohval.blogspot.com and I decided we would do a UK/USA box swap!  Today I'm going to show you everything in my box I received from Val. But firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to her for sending me such amazing things. She was exactly on point with everything! It was like she knew everything I wanted!! So thank you again Valerie! Now let's get into it.

Starting of with the first thing I spotted in the box was these two Bath and Body Works candles!! Ah oh my gosh! I'm still excited by these two! The scents I got were "Pumpkin Apple" which is a lovely apple cinnamon scent and "Pumpkin Caramel Latte" which reminds me so much of butterscotch!  Both incredible amazing candles.  The throw of these are insane, I can understand why so many people rave about them because they truly are amazing.

Next she amazingly got me ALL of the Electro Baby Lips.  These are so amazing!! My favourite is Berry Bomb and Oh Orange.  These are slightly less moisturising than the regular Baby Lips range but are much more colourful.

Next was this beautiful Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore. It's so stunning and is insanely pigmented. A little goes a long way with this one.  It's such a beautiful blush and is lovely and warm for the autumn months.

Val also got me this lovely Wet and Wild palette in Sweet as Candy. The eyelid shade broke slightly but it's okay because it's only a small corner.  These colours are so insanely pigmented it's beyond belief.  I'm pretty sure these are inexpensive in the US so I would recommend everyone in the US to try them!

I also found in my box a stunning Physicians Formula blush in Natural Pearl.  It's a lovely glowing blush which gives a lovely highlight as well.

Now for one of my favourites in the swap,  Covergirl's Lash Blast Fusion.  This mascara is amazing.  I'm literally addicted.  I've wore it every day non stop. It separates lashes and provides an equal amount of volume and length.

I also received this Covergirl eyeshadow in shade 355.  It's a really nice colour for the crease and has a lovely shimmer to it.

Another of my favourites, this Neutrogena healthy skins blends in Pure. This blush reminds me of Benefits Hervana with all the different shades swirled together to create on stunning natural shade.

Another lovely natural favourite from Neutrogena, the MoistureShine lip soother in shine 30.  This lipgloss has cooling hydragel which tingles slightly on the lips.  It's such a weird but wonderful sensation.

I also got a lovely Wet and Wild lipstick in Taj Mauve-Hal.  It's a really nice mauve pink and is a lovely alternative to my usual bright pinks for the fall season.

My final beauty product I have to show is the Covergirl lip perfection jumbo gloss balm in shade 2312.  It's such a gorgeous red and it's perfect for statement lips.

Finally in my package was Sour Patch Kids!!! This bag is HUGE. Oh my god. I died when I seen this. I love Sour Patch Kids and I'm still working my way through this bad boy.

Again I would like to say a massive thank you to Val for all the amazing USA goods!

I hope you all enjoyed seeing what I received in my half of the swap. I know Val's in the progress of writing hers so make sure you keep checking her blog if you want to see what I got her.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and I'll speak to you all soon!

Nails of the day!

Hey everyone!

I've been feeling in the Halloween spirit the past week and it's just emphasised by my nails.

I've been wearing Barry M Gelly Shine in Mango which is this gorgeous bright pumpkin orange, and Loreal's Confetti Top Coat on my ring finger. I think this duo looks super cute together and perfect for the month of Halloween.

The Barry M nail polish needs two coats to get a nice cover and the Loreal is perfect with one.

So that's it for today's quick post. I hope you liked seeing a quick glimpse of my nails and if you would like to see more NOTD let me know in the comments!

Pretty Little Liars - Hanna Marin Inspired

A Hey everyone!

So a few weeks ago I asked on twitter if you guys would like to see a makeup, hair and outfit look for each of the PLL girls leading up to the Halloween Epsiode, and the majority of you said yes!  If you don't follow PLL (firstly, WHY NOT?) and secondly, it's perfectly okay because these looks are suitable for everyday wear!  I decided to start with Hanna played by Ashley Benson and here's what I came up with;

Hair

As you can see from the pictures, Hanna typically has her hair in loose waves, even now as it's shorter.  I used my Andrew Barton 1" curlers that I bought from argos to curl my hair.  I took about 1 and a half inch pieces of my hair and curled them outwards for about 10-15 seconds.  And this was what it turned out like (ps, ignore my pjs haha);

Makeup

For makeup, Hanna is pretty natural. Her most dramatic feature is her smokey eyeliner on her bottom lash line.

Sticking to my regular foundation routine, for my eyes I decided to take MACs Shroom eyeshadow and sweep it all over my lid, and then blend Satin Taupe in my crease for slight definition. Then I took Maybellines Master Drama Eyeliner and smudged it slightly along the bottom lash line. Finally I took Benefits They're Real Mascara and applied it to my lashes.  For lips I took Revlons lip butter in sweet tart and applied it slightly and blended it out for a more natural finish.

Outfit

Hanna is probably the most "girly" Liar out of the 4 girls. I decided to pair my maroon leggings from Matalan (£12) with a lovely cream blouse from New Look (£16.99).

I decided to wear these cream wedge boots also from New Look (£24.99) to finish off the outfit.  I then added a few different bracelets and layered them for a unique look.

I hope you all liked my Hanna Marin inspired look and let me know if your excited for the PLL Halloween episode!

Speak to you all soon!
