Payday Purchases

Hey everyone!

It is quite well known that I have a love for shopping.  Unfortunately this means that when I get paid, I usually spend the majority of my money in the first couple of days and spend the rest of the month broke.  And this month appears no different...

I got paid less that 24 hours ago and almost 1/3 of it is gone. I thought I would quickly share my payday purchases with you all.

First of all I ordered my h&m boots for £30. If you  follow me on twitter you probably know how much I've been lusting over these little booties. Now just have to wait for them to arrive...

I also ordered a pair of black treggings from h&m. Nothing all that exciting but I badly need a pair. The pair I purchased was £14.99.

Next I repurchase my favourite lush face mask. I rely on Catastrophe Cosmetic to calm and soothe my skin of any redness and clear my skin of any irritating spots.  My skins been really bad these past few days so I badly needed a rescue.  This lovely face mask is about £6.

Next I bought a leather jacket from F&F at Tesco for £32. I have been looking for a leather jacket for literally months but I'm so fussy when it comes to jackets.  When I saw this one I kind of fell in love.  I love the padded features on it and it fits really nicely.  For only £32 plus my employee discount, it's a real bargain.

Next I picked up a water bobble bottle.  I've heard a lot about them in the blogging world and really wanted to give it a go. I drink a lot of water so this idea seemed really clever.  Basically if you have never heard of water bobble before,  it's a water bottle which filters your water as your drink, giving you cleaner and better water, simple right?  A quick little comment on them though, they are pretty loud.  It's so bizarre but mine sounds a little like Darth Vader as I drink from it and as the air flows back in...

Finally I picked up some awesome ballpoint coloured pens from Tesco. Again an absolute bargain for 10 colours for 45p. How can you go wrong?

Thank you all for reading this post and I hope you enjoyed it!

Chanel Coco Rouge Shine Lipstick

Hey everyone!

After months of accumulating Boots Advantage Card points, reaching 30,000 points meant I had £30 in store to spend.  Instead of buying my regular products, I decided to treat myself to something I wouldn't normally buy.  I was considering a nice perfume but when I couldn't find any I particularly loved, I decided to splurge on a high end makeup piece.  Chanel is a brand drooled over by many beauty enthusiasts and it was a brand missing from my ever so large lipstick collection.  I set my mind of buying a Chanel lipstick.

The packaging of this product is extremely classy and I feel so posh whipping it out of my handbag.  It's a simple square black tube with the Chanel logo on the lid.  One thing I must say about this packaging is the actual lipstick twists out so smoothly it feels impressive.

As a fan of MAC Creemsheens and Lustres, I decided a lighter formula would probably be best for me.  I know a lot of people favour Matte lipsticks but they're just not for me.  The shade I got - Rendezvous - is the perfect pink.  I'm a sucker for blue-pinks and that's exactly what this is.  A vibrant blue pink is the only way I can describe this lipstick.

The lipstick swatches so beautifully and glides on with no tugging to the skin or lips.  The shine is clearly visible when tilted back and forth in light.  Another thing I must point out is that this lipstick smells exactly like roses.

You can see that the lipstick is very natural and nothing too OTT.

Overall I'm kinda sort of in love with this lipstick.  From the scent to the packaging to the colour it's just beautiful. Is it possible I've fallen for the marketing hype of Chanel? It's plausible.  But it's also plausible that this is just a better lipstick than most others.  It's just proven my thoughts that you pay for what you get.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

Back to School Haul

Hey everyone!

I know pretty much everyone will be doing these in the upcoming weeks but as a blog reader as well as writer, I love reading back to school hauls.

I have been slowly but surely picking things up gradually for the back to school season. Although I'm not heading back to school, I'm starting college so the supplies are pretty similar.

The first thing I picked up was some Staedtler HB Pencils with an eraser and sharpener.  I'm a big fan of Staestler Stationary and you can never go wrong with a pack of HB pencils.  I got this little pack for £1 in Tesco.

Then I also bought some Staedtler Coloured Pencils in a pack of 24.  I already have the Staedtler pack of pens so I thought I would complete my collection!  This pack was £3.50 from Tesco.

Next I bought some sticky notes and index markers.  I constantly use sticky notes for reminders, notes and revision so you can never have to many.  I'm also a big fan of using index markers to highlight important pages in textbooks or diaries.  These were around £1-2 each from Tesco.

I also picked up this adorable polka-dot planner from Tesco.  I need to be able to write all my homework and assignments in one place otherwise I will forget.  The week to week layout is perfect and provides plenty of space for writing.  Even though the black and white is a little duller than I would have normally chosen, the index markers will surely brighten up the edges.  I was going to splash out on a Filofax but until I can prove to myself I will use it, this £3 planner will do.

Next, I have my pencil case.  This is probably one of my favourite things for back to school.  Its from Cath Kidston and its such a gorgeous floral print across my favourite colour.  The pencil case was £10 in the sale.

Then I purchased two packs of Sharpie Pens, the original four and the pastels (omg how cute and perfect are these pastel shades? Major sharpie love).  These were on offer for 2 for £3 in Asda.

Next, I bought a lovely blue ringbinder folder from Tesco for 75p and filled it with a refill paper pad for £2.  You can never have to much paper right? Right? I think I probably bought enough paper in this post to last me the whole year...

I also bought a project book from Tesco with tabs down the side for like £2.  I love paper pads like this with the tabby bittys? You know what I mean?  The tabs can be taken out and relocated to any part of the book you want which makes it super easy to organise.

Then I bought some Oxford Notebooks.  Oxford Notebooks are my favourite and I like to call them my neat books.  Everything I write in class is normally rough notes which is just scribbled on random paper as I try to catch the teachers words, so when I come home I like to re-write the notes into my neat books so that they make more sense.  Oxford books are so perfect for this because the paper is so crisp and soft and pearly white, I love it.  I got both of these in Tesco for around £2 each.

As for my bag, I got this a few months ago and it was in my haul post, but I thought I would show it again to you guys.  I purchased it from Accessorize for £25.

So that's all for my back to school haul.  I don't think I've forgotten anything, but if you think I have, leave it in the comments below! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post.

Guest post by Charlotte

Hey Everyone!

Today I have a little treat for you all, a guest post from the lovely Charlotte.  Charlotte has kindly helped me out by writing a guest post for me as I'm really struggling with posts as my laptop broke. I just want to say a quick thanks to Charlotte and thank you to you all for bearing with me! So without further ado, I will let Charlotte take over...

Hello ma'lovelys, I'm Charlotte from
The gorgeous Katie has allowed me to write this little post for all you wonderful followers of hers.

This post is a recipe for a delicious chocolate cheesecake.

Firstly you will need to crush up some chocolate biscuits. BASH em, CRUSH em! Basically just make sure the biscuits are crumbled into tiny pieces.

Then melt some butter, either on the hob or just shove it in the microwave.

Add the melted butter to the crumbled biscuits and stir. You will then need to put the mixture into a tin and flatten it down. Put this in the fridge to cool.

Next you will need two mixing bowls. One for the cream the other for the mascarpone. Pour the cream into a bowl and then whisk until thick. Don't over whisk it. Then put the mascarpone into the other bowl and stir it gently until soft.

Then melt some chocolate. Again either on the hob or in microwave.

Mix 3/4 of the melted chocolate into the cream and then stir in the mascarpone in a figure of eight.

Pour the chocolate, cream and mascarpone mix on top of the biscuit base.

Put it back in the fridge to chill for at least two hours.

Then when ready to serve, pour the remaining chocolate over the cheesecake in a swirly pattern (or messy in my case).

I hope you enjoyed this recipe, let me know if you try it out.
I would like to say a big thank you to Katie for letting me write a post on her lovely blog.

Embrace Your Inner Nerd: 8 Nerdy Facts About Me

Hey everyone!

I seen a post done by the lovely Joelle from www.febgirl.co.uk (sorry if the link doesn't work, mobile blogging again!) and I really loved it.  I thought it was so unique, funny and completely different to anything I've read before.  We all have an inner nerd and this post allows us to embrace our geeky side!

1. I am a HUGE Star Wars fan.  I only watched the films for the first time at the start of the year but since then I have probably watched one of the movies a week (no joke).  Star Wars Sundays on ITV 2 totally didn't help the growing addiction.  I think they are such awesome movies and everyone has to see them if you haven't already!

2. I'm a pretty big gamer. I adore the Sims and will spend countless hours on my laptop designing and creating characters and their lives.  I have my eye on a PS3 right now.  A couple of friends and I recently got together and played Black Ops 2 on the PS3 and it was such a blast!! I really want my own and I'm considering asking for one for Christmas!

3. I have a bunch of cool rocks that I like to keep.  My dad actually works at a quarry so if he finds a cool looking rock he usually brings it home and gives it to me.  And that's how that all started.  Some have different colours and crystals locked in them.

4. I'm a huge tv show junkie. I get so involved with characters and I could literally watch my favourites 24/7. I don't thin there has been a day this year that I haven't watched How I Met Your Mother.  I am completely obsessed. Ps, am I the only person who doesn't like the mother?  She wasn't what I expected at all!!! Back to the point though, in the words of Nick Miller from New Girl (Jake Johnson) "it's perfectly fine to watch tv all day".

5. I like my time alone. I don't know if this counts as a nerdy fact but I'm perfectly happy being alone.  Although I love company, I do need time by myself each day otherwise I get pretty irritated with whoever I'm with (even if I love them with all my heart).

6. I am a disney mug hoarder. I have far to many for my own good but they are all so darn cute.  Currently, I am drinking a lemsip out of an adorable Nemo mug (stupid cold, cute as heck Nemo).

7. I adore country music. Bruce Springsteen brings it. I would love to go to one of his concerts and just jam it out!

8. Again I don't know if this really counts as a nerdy fact but I'm struggling. I have glasses because I'm blind as a bat when it comes to long distance. I also had braces for almost 4 years. Thank god I didn't have both at the same time because I didn't suit either of them.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you enjoyed it and if you have, feel free to give this tag a try!
